The invention relates to an interface composed of a first subassembly (20) and a second subassembly (90), wherein the first subassembly (20) has both a recess (30), which has at least one frustoconical portion (32), and also an abutment surface (24) that acts in the axial direction, and wherein the second subassembly (90) has at least one peg (100) which has both a frustoconical-shell-shaped portion (120) for butting against the frustoconical-shell-shaped portion (32) of the first subassembly (20), and also at least one abutment surface, acting in the axial direction, for making contact with the abutment surface (24) of the first subassembly (20). Arranged between the recess (30) and the peg (100) is a bayonet-type closure having at least one protrusion (106, 115) that is present on the peg (100). Arranged in the first subassembly (20) is a clamping element (60), the front end of which butts against one of the protrusions (106, 115) during clamping. The present invention provides an interface which ensures, for each tool change, easy handling together with high repeatability with regard to the position of the mutually contacting subassemblies.
