A WLAN 802.11 access point transmitting on a first channel determines that a probability of a radar non-interference on a second channel and switches to the second channel if its capacity is greater than the capacity of the first channel.
The AP having one transceiver only uses channels that may be interfered by radar in the 5GHz band. The device scans according to a stored channel list channels to monitor and define a confidence level related to a probability that the channel is interfered by radar. The APs control the measurements bases on the load, The measurements are performed during the transmission periods when the transceiver is idle.
