To obtain a workpiece conveying apparatus for a pressing machine, which is capable of changing a conveyance posture of a workpiece with a high degree of freedom, provided is a workpiece conveying apparatus including: two SCARA robots 101A and 101B each including: a raising and lowering frame 11 supported on a stationary frame F so as to be movable in an up-and-down direction which is a Z-axis direction, the stationary frame being mounted to extend along a width direction being a Y-axis direction orthogonal to a workpiece conveying direction being an X-axis direction of a passage space for conveying a workpiece; a first arm 21 supported on the raising and lowering frame 11 through intermediation of a first joint 10X; a second arm 31 held through intermediation of a second joint 20X; a first arm driving mechanism DM1 configured to drive the first arm to rotate; and a second arm driving mechanism DM2 configured to drive the second arm to rotate; raising and lowering mechanisms 10A and 10B arranged to correspond to the two SCARA robots, respectively, and configured to enable the corresponding raising and lowering frames 11 to mutually independently move in the Z-axis direction; a cross arm 102 configured to couple distal ends of second arms 31 to each other; and a cross bar unit 103 configured to releasably hold the workpiece W.
