A heat recovery steam generator (10) includes a gas inlet (12) for receiving a flow of exhaust gas (14) from a gas turbine (18), a gas outlet (34) opposite the gas inlet (12) and configured to transport the flow of exhaust gas (14) to atmosphere, and a sorbent injection device (58) intermediate the gas inlet (12) and the gas outlet (34), the sorbent injection device (58) including at least one injection port (54) configured to inject a sorbent (66) into the flow of exhaust gas (14). The sorbent (66) is configured to react with an acid gas within the flow of exhaust gas (14) to neutralize the acid gas and inhibit the formation of salt deposits.
