The invention relates to a method for joining a functional subassembly (40), comprising the steps of providing a frame structure (42), in particular a bearing frame (46) or a housing (44), which defines a bearing passage (56) with at least one circumferentially closed bearing seat (58); providing at least two add-on parts (20); providing a hollow shaft (16), which has at least one carrying portion (78) for the at least two add-on parts (20), wherein the add-on parts (20) have an accommodating seat (90) adapted to the carrying portion (78); feeding the add-on parts (20) into the bearing passage (56) in a first feed direction (64); feeding the hollow shaft (16) into the bearing passage (56) in a second feed direction (66), wherein the hollow shaft (16) is introduced into the respective accommodating seat (90) of the at least two add-on parts (20); and, following the operations of feeding the add-on parts (20) and the hollow shaft (16) into the bearing passage (56), at least partially widening the hollow shaft (16) in order to fix the at least two add-on parts (20) in a rotationally fixed manner, by way of their accommodating seats (90), on the respective carrying portion (78) of the hollow shaft (16). The invention also relates to a functional subassembly (40) which is produced preferably by the above method.
