摘要：
The invention is directed to a base for pieces of furniture having at least one supporting column structure. The base comprises a central hub (2) receiving the lower end of a column and a number of arms (1) radiating from the hub. The object of the invention is to provide a furniture base which allows varying its height. This is accomplished by changing the angle between hub and arms, or by shifting the points of attachment of the arms on the hub in the vertical direction.
