Herein a method for hole cutting in a workpiece (3) comprising CFRP with a cutting tool (4) comprising at least one cutting edge (8) is disclosed, wherein at least one portion of the cutting edge is heated. Further, a hole cutting assisting apparatus (12) is disclosed and an apparatus (2) for hole cutting comprising: a cutting tool (4), a drive (6) for rotating the cutting tool (4), and a heating element (10) configured for heating at least a portion of the cutting edge (8) of the cutting tool (4)
