The invention relates to a drilling vessel (1) having a firing line (4a), along which a tubular string is passed into the sea during drilling activities, the firing line (4a) extending in a substantially vertical direction, and a tubular string support structure (3). According to the invention, the tubular string support structure (3) comprises a cart transport system (54) configured for moving the at least one cart between its support position in the firing line (4a), and its secondary position outside the firing line (4a).
