The electric machine is characterized in particular in that the housing (18) has, on the external periphery, a depression (20) which at least partially encircles the housing (18), wherein the guide (22) for cooling fluid is at least partially arranged in the depression (20), and the depression (20) forms, together with the guide (22), at least one at least partially encircling cooling channel (30). Thus, heat generated by the electric machine (10) can efficiently be removed via the cooling channel (20).
