The method comprises: the communication terminal (3) receiving a request from a network processing unit (19) located in the communication network (1) to switch the communication terminal (3) from using the first operator domain subscription to using the second operator domain subscription; the communication terminal (3) deactivating the first subscriber identity application (7); and the communication terminal (3) activating the second subscriber identity application (7) for communicating in the second operator domain (25).
