The invention relates to a multi-layered wound care product comprising (a) an upper liquid-absorbing layer; (b) an intermediate bacteria-adsorbing layer; and (c) a liquid-permeable bottom layer comprising collagen, collagen-like protein or peptides comprising a matrix metalloprotease (MMP) cleavage site or a combination thereof. The invention further relates to the use of said multi-layered wound care product for plastic surgery, tissue engineering and for treatment of acute and chronic wounds and for use in vacuum therapy. The invention finally relates to a method of producing the multi-layered wound care product of the invention.
