A motor vehicle steering lock (1), having a housing (3) in which a locking cylinder (2) is arranged with a selector shaft (4) which can take up various rotational positions, and an adjustment element (5) of an ignition switch (6), said adjustment element being coupled in terms of movement to the selector shaft (4) of the locking cylinder (2), wherein the selector shaft (4) of the locking cylinder (2) and the adjustment element (5) of the ignition switch (6) are connected to each other for conjoint rotation via an intermediate compensating element (11) which permits a relative movement of the selector shaft (4) with respect to the adjustment element (5) in a first axis direction (9) running radially with respect to the longitudinal axis (8) of the selector shaft (4) and a relative movement of the adjustment element (5) with respect to the selector shaft (4) in a second axis direction (10) running perpendicularly to the first axis direction (9).
