The invention relates to a broom and dustpan assembly comprising a broom element (1) in which the brush is fixed with the bristles (6) of the broom extending past an edge of the broom element, and a dustpan element (2) designed to collect waste. The dustpan element and the broom element comprise complementary assembly means (12,27;13,29) designed such that, in the assembled position, the dustpan element and the broom element form a box containing the brush.
