A storage yarn feeder (1) comprises a body (2) having a portion or drum (3) onto which winds a yarn (4) forming at least one coil, said yarn (4) coming from a reel, being provided with a braking organ (8) cooperating with said drum (3) to brake the yarn (4) leaving said drum (3), said braking organ (8) comprising braking means capable of cooperating with the yarn (4) when it detaches from the drum (3) as it leaves the feeder and heads towards a textile machine. The drum (3) comprises a first (3A) and a second portion (3B), the latter being capable of supporting the yarn (4) and being separable from the first portion (3A) so as to be capable of being replaced, said first portion being connected to the body (2) of the feeder.
