A pin-drop hitch mount assembly (100) and method of operating such is disclosed. A pin-drop hitch mount assembly (100) comprising: a drawbar receiver (102) defining a drawbar cavity (104) that extends along an axis (106), the drawbar cavity (104) configured to receive a drawbar (101) that advances generally along the axis (106); a pin receiver (120) that is supported by the drawbar receiver (102), the pin receiver (120) defining a pin opening (119) that is open to the drawbar cavity (104); a pin (142) that is received within the pin opening (119) of the pin receiver (120), the pin (142) configured for movement between a retracted position and an extended position, the pin (142) configured to attach the drawbar (101) to the drawbar receiver (102) when in the extended position, and the drawbar receiver (102) being detached from the drawbar (101) when the pin (142) is in the retracted position; a latch (174) that is supported for movement between a first position and a second position relative to the drawbar receiver (102), the latch (174), in the first position, being configured to engage the pin (142) and retain the pin (142) in the retracted position, the latch (174), in the second position, being configured to disengage the pin (142) and release the pin (142) for movement of the pin (142) from the retracted position to the extended position; and a biasing member (192) configured to bias the latch (174) toward the first position to retain the pin (142) in the retracted position.
