The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a semi-finished product with locally different material thicknesses. According to said method, a multi-layer, metallic composite is provided, which has a plurality of layers with different ductility, the composite being rolled in a flexible rolling method through a nip formed between two rolls, said nip being modified in such a way that areas with different material thickness are formed.
