In the connector, shell (50) includes interlocking portion (58) at an edge of shell (50) opposite to opening (30) in an insertion direction of the mating connector, interlocking portion (58) being adapted to restrict mutual movement of shell (50) and main connector part (102) along the insertion direction by being engaged with a portion of housing (40) transverse to the insertion direction of the mating connector.
