Internal combustion engine arrangement comprising an internal combustion engine (ICE), a turbocharger (TC) comprising a turbine (TB) and a compressor (TCP) and a variable compressor (ESC) arranged between the internal combustion engine and said compressor (TCP) and control means (ECU) arranged to control said variable compressor, according to at least one of the followings: a) to throttle the intake, on the basis of a turbocharger speed, in order to avoid its over speed, b) to throttle the intake, on the basis of at least one component temperature of an Aftertreatment system (ATS) connected to said exhaust line, in order to warm up said ATS component; c1) to throttle the intake or c2) to define a second supercharging stage in order to reduce a pressure in an inlet line, where a high pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe (EGRP) flows; d) to control a rack position of said turbine having variable geometry in order to maintain the turbocharger in its optimal operating condition and to achieve an predetermined combustion engine boost level by controlling said variable compressor.
