The present invention relates to a method of installing a heat shrink cover around a component to be covered. In particular, the present invention is usable for installing medium voltage (MV) joint bodies. A method of installing a heat shrink cover (100) around a component to be covered is provided, the heat shrink cover (100) having at least one inner sleeve (104) and at least one outer sleeve (102), wherein at least the inner sleeve (104) is a heat shrink sleeve, the method comprising the following steps:
attaching an electrical heating system (110) to an outer surface of said outer sleeve (102);
arranging said inner heat shrink sleeve (104) and said outer sleeve (102) around the component to be covered, wherein said outer sleeve (102) at least partially encompasses said inner heat shrink sleeve (104);
energizing said electrical heating system (110) to provide heat for heat-recovering said inner heat shrink sleeve (104).
attaching an electrical heating system (110) to an outer surface of said outer sleeve (102);
arranging said inner heat shrink sleeve (104) and said outer sleeve (102) around the component to be covered, wherein said outer sleeve (102) at least partially encompasses said inner heat shrink sleeve (104);
energizing said electrical heating system (110) to provide heat for heat-recovering said inner heat shrink sleeve (104).
