which elevator comprises a vertical stator beam (18; 114) supporting at least one stator (50), which stator beam has at least one side face (42-48; 116-124) carrying ferromagnetic poles of said stator spaced apart by a pitch (d), and which mover (24, 26; 126) comprises at least one counter-face (54) facing said side face(s) of the stator beam, in which electro-magnetic components (70, 71, 72, 74, 76) of the mover (24, 26; 126) are located.
