The anchoring device (2) comprises at least one anchoring member (20) having a preshaped first configuration, the at least one anchoring member (20) being deflectable from the preshaped first configuration into a strained second configuration for placement of the implantable medical device (1) on an object. The at least one anchoring member (20) comprises a tip section (21) and a connection section (22) extending in between the tip section (21) and the distal end (100) of the housing (10), wherein at least in the preshaped first configuration the tip section (21) comprises a straight portion (212) adjoining the connection section (22) at a transition location (211) by forming a bend in between the straight portion (212) and the connection section (22).
