The stretcher support (1) further comprises stretcher engaging/releasing means (50) adapted to allow the engagement of a stretcher (B) to the stretcher support (1) and the release of the stretcher (B) from the stretcher support (1). The stretcher engaging/releasing means (50) are made directly on the load-bearing framework (10).
