The processing unit is configured to identify on the basis of the distance (d1, d2, d3, d4) measured by the at least one distance sensor (2) at least one object (3, 4, 5) and, thus, an environmental situation (S2, S3, S4), in particular the street condition, within the sensing region (SR) of the at least one distance sensor (2).
