The plug part comprises one or more female conducting contact assemblies (18) each female conducting contact assembly comprising a female contact (51) comprising inner and outer conducting surfaces (55, 56), the inner conducting surface defining a cavity of the one or more female conducting contact assemblies and each female contact unit further comprising a shuttle pin (10) adapted to receive a male contact pin (52) of a receptacle (2). The female contact assembly (18) further comprises a solid insulator (50) mounted radially outward of the external surface and forming an annulus (40) between the outer surface (56) of the female contact and an inner surface (57) of the solid insulator and an orifice (42) between the cavity and the annulus.
