A system (100) and method (400) are provided for identifying watchers of an object of interest (116) at an incident scene (114). The method (400) includes receiving (402), with an electronic processor (302), an object identifier corresponding to the object of interest (116). The object of interest (116) is detected in one or more video streams, each produced by an operator of a video device (106, 108). The method (400) includes determining a watcher status for the object of interest (116), based on a number of watcher identifiers of watchers (107, 109) of the object of interest (116). The method (400) includes generating a notification based on the watcher status and the object identifier. The method (400) includes transmitting the notification to an available watcher at the incident scene (114).
