This application relates to the field of sensing technologies, and may be used for speed measurement and ranging in a sensing system, and specifically, to a data transmission method. The method includes: generating a physical layer protocol data unit PPDU, where the PPDU includes a training field, and the training field includes a sequence used for target sensing; and sending the PPDU. According to technical solutions provided in this application, target sensing can be performed in an existing standard related to high frequency band, and sensing performance is improved.
