An ophthalmologic apparatus includes an optotype presentation mechanism (42), when a distance from a left subject eye (EL) and a right subject eye (ER) to an optotype is an optotype presentation distance (L2), a position where a visual line of the left subject eye (EL) and a visual line of the right subject eye (ER) cross is a visual line crossing (P1), and a distance from the left subject eye (EL) and the right subject eye (ER) to the visual line crossing (P1) is a convergence distance (L1), configured to present the optotype to the left subject eye (EL) and the right subject eye (ER), and be capable of changing a brightness difference between the optotype presented to the left subject eye (EL) and the optotype presented to the right subject eye (ER), a convergence adjustment mechanism (23) configured to adjust the convergence distance (L1), an eye information obtaining portion (41, 43) configured to obtain eye information on the left subject eye (EL) and the right subject eye (ER), and a controller (40) configured to control the optotype presentation mechanism (42), the convergence adjustment mechanism (23), and the eye information obtaining portion (41, 43), wherein the controller (40) sets the convergence distance (L1) to a distance different from the optotype presentation distance (L2) by controlling the convergence adjustment mechanism (42), gradually increases the brightness difference while presenting the optotype at an voluntary optotype presentation distance by the optotype presentation mechanism (42), and detects a visual line direction of the left subject eye (EL) and a visual line direction of the right subject eye (ER) based on the eye information obtained by the eye information obtaining portion (41, 43).
