A taping unit adapted to apply an adhesive tape along flaps of boxes comprising a structure supporting a tape roll and arms with movable lever for distributing the tape on the box and for cutting it after the deposition, as well as cleaning members associated with such structure. There is provided for a device adapted to identify the need to subject such taping unit to maintenance and to a cleaning.
