An electric work vehicle includes: a battery (4) installed in a machine body; an inverter (14) that converts DC power that is based on output from the battery (4) to AC power; a motor (M) driven by the AC power converted by the inverter (14); a rotational speed information obtaining unit (41) that obtains rotational speed information indicative of a rotational speed of the motor (M); a travel device (42) driven by the motor (M); an operation member (43) that changes a required rotational speed required for the motor (M); a storage unit (45) storing an output map defining a relationship between a torque value that the motor (M) is allowed to output and the rotational speed of the motor (M); and a controller (44) that controls a current flowing through the motor (M) by running the inverter (14) based on the rotational speed information, the required rotational speed, and the output map, wherein the output map is set so as to have a shape similar to a shape of a torque curve of an engine in a high rotation range where the rotational speed of the motor (M) is at least a predetermined rotational speed.
