PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst that can hydrogenate diaminodiphenylmethane (MDA) into diaminodicyclohexylmethane (PACM), particularly containing a small proportion of trans, trans-4,4'-diaminodicyclohexylmethane in a high space time yield with a long catalyst life in a continuously operated suspension reactor.
SOLUTION: The ruthenium catalyst for the hydrogenation of diaminodiphenylmethane into diaminodicyclohexylmethane in a continuously operated suspension reactor is ruthenium applied to a support of high-purity aluminum oxide.
