PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method by which an information provider can secure information provision destinations and distribute information at low cost. SOLUTION: The information distribution system using a portable telephone terminal is characterized in that a mediator server which performs a process for distributing provided information transmitted from a sponsor terminal to the portable telephone terminal records individual information and lot drawing information of a lottery sponsor together with the provided information, issues, records, and transmits entry numbers unique to respective lottery tickets to the sponsor terminal according to the lot drawing information, records individual information on a lottery applicant sent from a portable telephone terminal together with an entry number, checks the entry number sent from the portable telephone terminal and draws a lot, transmits the result to the portable telephone terminal, and distributes the provided information to the portable telephone terminal according to the individual information on the lottery applicant.
