PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope winding reel capable of smoothly winding rope under a condition that load is hardly applied to the rope. SOLUTION: In the rope winding reel having a thimble mounting recess part 3 provided on a winding circumference surface part 2 of a reel body 1 and having a thimble 4A formed on an end part of rope 4 attached on the thimble mounting recess part 3 under a storage condition, a rope supporting part 5 is provided on the thimble mounting recess part 3 so that it surrounds the thimble 4A. The rope supporting part 5 forms a part of the winding circumference surface part 2 and supports the rope 4 wound around the winding circumference surface part 2 not to drop the same in the thimble mounting recess part 3.
