PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil additive capable of increasing efficiency in fuel combustion and consumption by keeping low the friction loss of internal combustion engine lubricating oil even after a prolonged use and capable of extensively purifying dangerous substance-containing exhaust gas, for improving the global environment, for decreasing the ill effects on human health, and for improving combustion technologies in compliance with criteria more rigorous than those in the past, under the circumstances where dangerous substance-containing exhaust gas from petroleum fuel combustion in internal combustion engines aboard gasoline-powered automobiles is causing atmospheric pollution for the production of endocrine disrupters to the detriment of human health, for the generation of photochemical smog, and for the deterioration of the global environment in general because of carbon dioxide on the increase.
SOLUTION: The lubricating oil additive used for internal combustion engines is a mixture containing siloxane or the like. The additive, when mixed with the internal combustion engine lubricating oil, keeps friction loss low and improves combustion efficiency, thereby extensively removing dangerous substances out of exhaust gas, such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides. A great improvement is achieved also in fuel consumption efficiency.
