PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording paper sheet wherein a coating layer with a high degree of smoothness and heat insulating properties can be provided by a small amount of coating and which is excellent in color development sensitivity and image quality. SOLUTION: In this information recording paper sheet, the coating layer, which is provided on at least one side of a substrate, is coated with a coating liquid, containing a pigment wherein oil absorption based on JIS K5101 is 50 ml/100 g or more, by a rod metering coating method; and an information recording layer such as a thermal recording layer is provided in the coating layer.
