摘要：
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glucide-splitting enzyme-inhibiting material effective for prevention and amelioration of diabetes and prevention of fatness, and obtained from chestnut; and to provide a food and drink, and a medicine containing the material. SOLUTION: The glucide-splitting enzyme-inhibiting material (α-amylase-inhibiting material, α-glucosidase-inhibiting material) is obtained by extracting the whole or a part of a plant body of a Fagaceae plant with water, a polar solvent or a mixed liquid thereof. The glucide-splitting enzyme-inhibiting material is formulated with a food composition or a medicinal composition as an active ingredient for retardation of digestion and absorption of glucide, for inhibition of increase of blood glucose after eating, or for prevention of fatness.
