PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance recognition accuracy of a copy-prohibition pattern even when a copy-prohibited document has a density unevenness, and to enhance the security.
SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not a job lock function is enabled (S604). It is determined whether or not the current mode outputs an image of a partial region of the document onto a recording paper sheet (S605, S606). When it is determined that the job lock function is enabled, and it is determined that the current mode outputs the image of the partial region of the document onto the recording paper sheet, an image of a region larger than the partial region is read in S608.
