PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature-responsive monolithic porous body in which a polymer with hydration force changing within the temperature range between 0-80°C is highly densely immobilized to the surface of a porous body, to provide a method for manufacturing the same, and to provide a temperature-responsive chromatography method using a carrier thereof.SOLUTION: An atom transfer radical polymerization initiator is immobilized to the surface of a monolithic porous body, and a polymer with hydration force changing within the temperature range between 0-80°C is made to produce a growth reaction by an atomic transfer radical method under a catalyst from the initiator.
