PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable tilting pad journal bearing by making a load applied to a pad anisotropic to improve asymmetry in rigidity of a bearing oil film in two directions.SOLUTION: A tilting pad journal bearing device slidably incorporates a plurality of circular pads 3, 3, ..., 3in the circumference direction of a journal 2 in a bearing inner ring 4. The loads applied to the respective pads 3, 3, and 3arranged at a lower half part of the bearing inner ring 4 are made anisotropic.
