PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which exhibits high luminous efficiency and large effects on durability improvement by drive aging.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element contains a chemical compound expressed by the formula given below in either of organic layers. (In the formula, X is a coupling group; Ato Aare C-R or N atoms independently of each other; R represents hydrogen atoms or a substituent group independently of each other, in which R's existing in plurality will in no case be coupled together to form a ring; Rto Rrepresent hydrogen atoms or a substituent group independently of each other; Substituent groups adjacent to each other which are selected from Rto Rwill in no case be coupled together to form a ring.)
