PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, excellent in coloring properties, preservation stability and skin stability, and useful as cream, eye shadow, lipstick, nail color, skin cream, etc., by dyeing silk fibroin powder with gold colloid and blending the resultant gold-dyed silk fibroin powder with other ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by treating an aqueous solution of a gold salt, such as chloroauric acid, as a raw material with a water-soluble reducing agent, such as sodium borohydride, adding silk fibroin powder into the resultant aqueous dispersion of gold colloid which is a gold hydrosol while stirring the dispersion and blending the prepared gold-dyed silk fibroin powder with other ingredients. The amount of the blended gold-dyed fibroin powder is preferably about 0.01-50wt.% based on 100wt.% cosmetic. The aforementioned cosmetic is good in tint and coloring properties and excellent in heat, light resistance, etc., preservation stability with high skin safety and remarkable action and effects thereof without skin irritancy, etc.
