A road pavement composition comprising pyroclast as a main component and a paving method using the composition are provided to impart high strength, high density, an air purification function, good durability, and a natural texture to pavement. A paving method using a road pavement composition containing pyroclast as a main component includes the steps of: screening pyroclast, wherein if pavement thickness is less than 15 cm, the screened pyroclast having a maximum aggregate dimension of 25 mm or smaller is used, and if pavement thickness is more than 15 cm, the screened pyroclast having a maximum aggregate dimension of 40 mm or smaller is used; mixing the pyroclast with 5-20wt%, based on the weight of the pyroclast, of cement and 1-10wt%, based on the weight of the pyroclast, of slaked lime; thereto adding 15-30wt%, based on the weight of the mixture of pyroclast, cement, and slaked lime, of water to obtain a pyroclast composition; casting the pyroclast composition onto a road(10) or auxiliary base layer(20) in a thickness of 10-30 cm, and tamping the composition to provide a maximum dry density of 95% or more; and performing surface treatment and curing.
