A mortar composition based on zeolite is provided to obtain a building finishing material capable of preventing emission of various harmful substances and adsorbing harmful substances present in an indoor environment, thereby realizing an excellent air refreshing effect. A mortar composition as a building finishing material for imparting an air refreshing effect to an indoor environment comprises: a mixture containing 52.998-60 wt% of zeolite, 8-12 wt% of bentonite, 8-12 wt% of illite, 4-6 wt% of feldspar, 13-17 wt% of quartz and 0.001-0.002 wt% of chlorophyll, and water, wherein the mixing ratio of the mixture and water is 75-80:20-25. In a variant, the mortar composition comprises a chloride solution instead of water. Further, a size of particles of the zeolite is 100 to 300 nm.
