PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting skewness of strip on looper car is provided to prevent damage of rolls installed inside an annealing furnace by installing at the looper car itself a means for correcting skewness of a strip threading the looper car of the inlet side of a looper in a stainless steel cold rolling plant. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for correcting skewness of strip on looper car comprises skewness sensing sensors(20a,20b) which are installed at the adjacent front to looper car rolls(10,12) of a looper car body(6) installed at an annealing line of a stainless steel cold rolling plant and consisted of a plurality of light emitting and light receiving elements to detect movement of the edge part of a strip (S); a plurality of pressing rolls which are installed at both ends of the rear side adjacent to the looper car rolls(10,12) so that the pressing rolls are contacted with the surface of the strip (S) threaded along the looper car rolls(10,12); and a plurality of air cylinders which are connected to the pressing rolls and fixed to the looper car body(6) so that the air cylinders moves any one of the pressing rolls according to detection signals of the skewness sensing sensors(20a,20b).
