An apparatus for protecting and guiding a cable is provided to enhance endurance and reliability of the cable or the like by preventing damages on a flexible linear member. A guide hole(15) is formed close to a bending contact surface in each side plate(11). The guide hole(15) penetrates the side plate(11). A cable-shaped member is inserted through the guide hole(15). The cable-shaped member includes an extensible flexible member, a plastic or metallic wire, and a plastic belt or the like. The guide holes(15) include a rectangular-section square hole. The rectangular-section square hole includes four surfaces, that is, a bending outer peripheral side inner surface(15a), a bending inner peripheral side inner surface(15b) and side inner surfaces positioned on front and rear sides. The bending outer peripheral side inner surface(15a) and the side inner surfaces include flat surfaces. The bending inner peripheral side inner surface(15b) includes an arc surface concentric with an arc formed by mutually bending the link frame members(10). An arc surface of a radius(R) has a center in common with a bending center(O) of the link frame members.
