The electronic device includes an input interface configured to receive a user input related to a message, a communication interface configured to transmit the message to an external electronic device, a memory configured to store the message, a display configured to display the message, and a processor functionally connected to the input interface, the communication interface, the memory, and the display. When a first content of the message is input, the processor is configured to seal the message with a first object designated such that at least a portion of a second object corresponding to the first content is not exposed and transmit the sealed message through the communication interface. The at least the portion of the second object is configured to be exposed when an unseal input with respect to the first object occurs.
