The image forming apparatus includes a scanner configured to scan a transcript and generate a scanned image, at least one processor configured to determine a type of the transcript using the scanned image, detect a personal information area within the scanned image based on the determined type of the transcript, and correct the scanned image by blurring the detected personal information area, and an image forming device configured to print the corrected scanned image.
