A DC terminal voltage detector is configured to detect the voltage of the DC terminals, and an output current detector is configured to detect an output current flowing through the motor. A controller is configured to control the inverter based on the detected output current. The controller controls the motor to operate based on a flux current command value from among the flux current command values and a torque current command value for driving the motor in an overvoltage protection mode when the detected DC terminal voltage is higher than a first predetermined value and power is supplied from the motor to the DC terminals. Abrupt DC terminal voltage increase may be prevented.
