Abstract:
An apparatus including at least one processing circuitry, and at least one memory for storing instructions to be executed by the processing circuitry, wherein the at least one memory and the instructions are configured to, with the at least one processing circuitry, cause the apparatus at least: to obtain, over a series of times, information related to at least one of spatial properties and frequency properties of a channel used in a directional communication between a communication network control element or function and a communication element, to quantify the information related to at least one of spatial properties and frequency properties into a metric, to track whether the metric is smaller than a first threshold or greater than a second threshold during a predetermined period of time, and to decide to use a first transmission mode or a second transmission mode on the basis of a result of the tracking.
