The method includes: a classifier receiving a first packet; the classifier determining a first service function (SF) to which the first packet is to be transmitted; the classifier adding an address of the first SF to the first packet, obtaining a second packet; and the classifier transmitting the second packet to a network virtualization edge (NVE) node.
