The pouch type secondary cell includes an electrode assembly including a cell and an electrode, a pouch having a receiving space configured to receive the electrode assembly therein, the pouch including upper and lower sheets configured to surround upper and lower plate surfaces of the electrode assembly respectively, and a terrace sealing formed by compressing the upper and lower sheets, which surround a terrace, in a thickness direction thereof so that the upper and lower sheets come into contact with each other, the terrace being an empty space in the receiving space excluding a space occupied by the electrode assembly.
